Acting Coaching
"People think thoughts and live in moments. Actors think words and speak in sentences.
The gift of a great actor is to transform words to thoughts and sentences to moments."
“Acting is not about getting your audience to believe you. It’s about getting you to believe you. When you believe you are that specific person experiencing that specific event,
we will too.”
Brian's technique has evolved through his work with noteworthy acting teachers: Uta Hagen,
Milton Katselas, Terry Schreiber and Larry Moss. He has collaborated with writers and directors:
Neil Simon, Herbert Burgdoff, Gene Sachs and Margret Edson. He has produced, directed or
acted with: Jason Alexander, Ron Perlman, Anne Archer, Norman Reedus, Patrick Dempsey,
Kimberly Williams Paisley, Wesley Snipes, Tony Shalhoub, Blythe Danner, Traylor Howard,
Esai Morales, Lou Ferrigno, Catherine Bell, and Paul Sorvino.
Graduating with honors from the SUNY Purchase Acting Conservatory Program in New York,
Brian is a founder and has been the Creative Director of Edgemar Center for the Arts in Santa
Monica, California. He taught classes for over 20 years in Scene Study, On-Camera Auditioning
and Voice at Edgemar, Larry Moss Studio, Michael Woolson Studio, and the UCLA Extension
program. As a visiting artist, he has taught classes for The Philadelphia Acting Studio,
and Steel River Playhouse, both in Pennsylvania and for The Rehearsal Room in Melbourne
Australia. He is a “Recommended Acting Coach” in the successful industry guidebook
Acting Is Everything, by Judy Kerr.
Brian currently teaches Acting and Voice for T. Schreiber Studio and Script Analysis at the New
York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts, both in New York City. He coaches privately both in person
and on Skype and continues to travel to Los Angeles to teach, produce, and direct.
